The area's best Japanese restaurant One of the best Japanese restaurants anywhere. Not too pricey, plus has a lovely ambiance and excellent food. The sashimi and sushi are very fresh and artfully prepared. Take a good look at the daily dinner special -- it is often quite a gourmet meal at an incredible price. We've had both a grilled salmon special and filet mignon special at Oka. My mother asked to meet the chef after the filet mignon experience! It really was an exquisite meal -- one to remember. Don't pass thru Oakhurst without stopping at Oka's. [08 Mar 2004 22:23:39]

No Okies at Oka Oka offers a bill o' fare comparable to most fine Japanese dining houses, including traditional Japanese foods, and of course sushi. I've been there about a dozen times (I live nearby in Mariposa) and delight at the thought of sitting at the sushi bar for an hour or two. Fish rates about an eight on the ten scale, and selection about a seven. Always fresh, but they lack some favorites, usually out or or don't have Toro, or Spanish Mack.
I would not hesitate to recommend this as your destination location in Oakhurst. [15 Oct 2006 19:11:40]
