Bad bread makes bad meal
What happened to Monterey Bay Canners Restaurant? Started off bad and got worse. Eat the bread then noticed both ends to have a color green and it wasn't St. Patrick day. The manager took it away for a period, brought it back insulting us as if we placed it on the plate. If the meal was done then it was done 50 mi. later with overcooked tuna, dried up veggies along with a cold potato. Sound good????    [26 Mar 2005 22:30:09]

Two Strikes and They Are Out!!
It's such a shame to have a restaurant with such a nice location with a cute outside deck sitting right next to the O'side Harbor... and to have such terrible food and sub-par service.

My first experience... I took two family members to dinner and not only did one of us get the wrong order, we sent back two of the dinners for being UNABLE TO EAT since the halibut was tough and dry as a bone. So... we ordered another dish, it took forever, and it was just so-so. The manager did come over to apologize and did comp the two dinners but the whole experience ruined what would otherwise have been a fun evening.

The second time I went, months later for happy hour with a friend, the cocktails (Mai Tai and Cranberry Vodka) were pure sickening sweet syrupy juices without any alcohol, at least none we could taste or feel the affects from... I think I got a buzz from the syrup in a sugar high.

Lastly, I ordered a cheese quesadilla ($1) which was fair for the price and tasted okay and my friend ordered a fish taco... and I kid you not... it was cold tuna out of a can with shredded lettuce and a red taco sauce... can you say ICK!!! I cannot believe they served cold tuna and called it a fish taco.

If you go for the great outdoor setting, I recommend you only drink the beer (however, if draft I fear they'd screwed that up) so I'd stay with the bottles.
