Hiddens Springs Cafe Rocks!!!
I head up to the cafe for lunch during the week. I ride a sportbike so I'm up from Sunland in about fifteen minutes.
I always meet colorful characters at the cafe, which makes for good conversation. And Otis' chili is an A+!!    [13 Mar 2003 16:20:48]

Must experience on a motorcycle
I have been going to Hidden Springs Cafe for 18 years so this review may be a tad biased. A word to those who haven't been, you can visit alone or with a mate or date, even with your children. You will get a feel that you've been there before. It's uncanny but you realize that you don't know these people yet as you drive, or ride away, you tell yourself, I'll be back. Located on Angeles Forest Hwy. I should tell you right away that this visit will be away from the more heavily traveled sections of the forest roads. A breather if you will ? Depending on the time of day people from all walks of life, including various foreign countries, have traveled miles & miles, just to have some their famous chili, a must on a cold winter day. I personally recommend the chili with cheese and onions, and my favorite, ortega chile added to the mix. That's just me though, you can't go wrong ordering any of the burgers, you will not find anywhere burgers of this quality! If your dining requires a dessert, mmm, mmm, where can you taste pie ala mode' like this? 18 years, that has to account for something, right? All I can tell you it is worth the travel to experience. I moved to Colorado for 9 months and the worst part of not being able to visit every couple of weeks, was not being able to visit for a couple of months after I had returned to California. The distance was the culprit in Colorado, which is understood, but being in Southern California, and not being able was almost criminal for me. Like I said, this might be a bit biased, but hey have you been to the cafe lately ?    [16 Mar 2003 08:18:02]

NO PLACE LIKE THIS PLACE !
I have been stopping in to the Hidden Springs Cafe for the last several years. I live in the Tujunga area and it's a nice thirty minute drive for me. The owners are very nice and make you feel right at home. I like the homemade chili and the deep dish apple pie. Sometimes you might even catch the local Sheriff having his coffee. Your lunch is cooked on propane gas. How about that? It's a fun place to stop, I very much recommend it...they have groceries too for camping.

AN OASIS UP THE HILL.
I have been going to Hidden Springs for 35 years. I love the drive up the hill, the bridges, Grizzly Flats, the dam, the deep canyons, the views, the tunnel. The cafe has good food, cold drinks and a great atmosphere. Try some hot apple pie and ice cream. Yum!    [30 Aug 2003 22:40:49]
