Southern Cooking meets CA Cuisine It's a strange premise to take deep-fried Southern cooking and try to re-invent it with a California flair. For the most part it works.
The Blue Chalk is also a bar and a pool hall.
This is a good place to have big groups. They can accommodate large lunch and dinner parties. [17 May 2000 14:21:43]

Good food good atmosphere Food - only ate there once but enjoyed the Halibut, they made substitutions without complaint
Service - very friendly waiter
Ambiance - sitting near the fireplace was cozy and different, have not been upstairs
Pool Tables - they are a little cramped and the lighting is severe over the tables [18 Mar 2002 14:08:56]

Appetizers were Great I had appetizers at the Blue Chalk twice; they were great! If you like food a little spicy this is the place for you. [03 Sep 2003 17:52:38]

A Perfect Representation of Palo Alto To people of substance, Blue Chalk is considered a place where people only go to try to feel important. The atmosphere is superficial and clicky. If you ignore this posting and regard it as one written by some antisocial, unattractive, bored person on a computer (which is not the case) then be prepared to dress properly to gain acceptance at Blue Chalk. I recomend you take note of the window displays at Abercrombie to get some ideas. [07 Oct 2003 19:23:00]
