It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This Walking into Fino is like walking into the best part of a long-gone past. To start, Maurice Amzallag, the bartender, is an octogenarion poet, Free-French war hero, former owner of a five-star S.F. restaurant, and former member of the French international bar tending team with a unique "shake" to all his drinks which compliments him well as he is a throwback to Maurice Chevalier.
The menu is exquisite, the salmon particularly, with a wide range of Italian-inspired dishes to chose from. The owner is a long-time Toronto and Vegas nightlife devotee with ties to the rat-pack so the evening is sure to be filled with excellent service, great stories and cabaret dancing with great music. Service is old fashioned. Food in from the left, drinks from the right, waiters in tuxes, you in jeans. It can't be beat. [25 May 2004 23:37:02]

don't go! The service is here is horrible. We made reservations, but upon arrival we were ignored at the door for 10 minutes. When someone finally came over, they told us they didn't have a table ready and made us wait 5 minutes longer. Then, from across the room, the man yelled "GIRLS", summoning the three of us to a tiny two person table next to a wall in the crowded room. There was no way we could fit and we said we couldnn't take it. So after 10 more mintues, he yelled "GIRLS" again, across the room, and showed us to a proper table. This man was one of the owners, as I understand, and was incredibly rude. He did not even apologize for the inconvenience. Our waiter was also rude, and plunked the dishes down in front of us. The food was ok, but very much overpriced. [17 Apr 2005 21:37:05]
