Killer Mariscos, great price, really clean
I've been traveling to Mexico to surf since the early '70s and fell in love with seafood, Mexican style, and could never find it here. And when you could find a mariscos (Mexican seafood) joint, the conditions didn't always inspire confidence. Pescado Mojodo is like the McDonalds of mariscos, and I mean that in a good way. Clean plastic booths and bathrooms, clean cheerful staff, salsa bar and all the fish dishes that I love. My favorite is the Tostadas de Ceviche, raw fish marinated in lemon and lime juice until the citric acid cooks it, mixed with chopped peppers and served on a crisp corn tortilla. On a hot day it is the perfect meal along with an ice cold Tecate with lime. Did I mention they serve beer? Absolutely wonderful! The fish tacos, fish kabobs, fish soups are all wonderful and all very reasonably priced. Oh, I almost forgot to say that Pescado Mojado is a small chain of restaraunts started by the founder of El Pollo Loco, but aimed at the Hispanic market, and they really do have that going for them, he knows how to operate a restaraunt!    [31 Jan 2004 18:50:36]
