Old Time Favorite Been going here for years. Wonderful artichoke soup. Filling pies. Not to mention Guinness on tap in the bar. [12 Jan 2005 19:25:31]

James Beard's regional favorite winner This restaurant was selected by the James Beard foundation as a regional winner, and locals know why.
Start with the soup - they have artichoke soup, chili soup - and you can get 1/2 and 1/2 of each for a real treat. The salad is always fresh and delicious. You will be served warm and crusty bread which is delicious with butter. They have a standard menu, and then a list of specials. On the weekends you can get prime rib - cooked just right. They have steamed clams and mussels, and of course fried foods. French fries are crisp on the outside and just the right texture inside. The pasta specials with seafood sauces are very good. Then, sometime in the fall, they make their homemade mincemeat - yes, it's the real thing - not something out of a jar - and just like your grandma (or greatgrandma) made. And for as long as it lasts, you can get mincemeat pies. Their ollalieberry pie is also great. [03 Jan 2007 20:31:14]
