Description
Central Market, located in Petaluma's historic downtown. Chef Tony Najiola creates a blend of fresh and organic flavors, drawing upon his 20+ years culinary experience. The brick oven at the hub of the restaurant is a symbol of Tony's commitment to his craft.
Start yourself off with a choice of fresh market vegetables - the red jewel beets and local arugula salad are fantastic. Tony offers many seafood specialties or options from the butcher block.

Excellent Food in the Heart of Downtown I always take my visiting family and friends to Central Market, and have consistently had nothing but excellent food. Though I've heard rave reviews about their other dishes, I can't pass by the Hangar steak or the Pork Confit. The Hangar steak is served with blue cheese scalloped potatoes. It's gotta be one of the best steaks in the area (The Girl and the Fig's Flat Iron steak is a strong contender). The Pork Confit is like carnitas of the gods: crispy on the outside, but moist and succulent inside. We've also never had a salad we didn't like.
The service, at times, is borderline inattentive. I believe their motto is something like "good food served slow," but slow food doesn't necessitate slow service. All in all, the quality and caliber of the food has me returning time after time. [05 Aug 2007 00:25:02]
