watch for sneaky charges
I ate at Dempsey's with 4 friends. The food was OK. The onion rings are kind of greasy. We all don't drink and ordered sodas. The waitress came around to check on us and offered us soda refills. Never did she say that there was a charge. When we got our bill we saw that we were charged for each individual soda. It added about $15.00 to our overall bill. I can't think of another restaurant in town that I have eaten at that charges for soda refills. I certainly will take my business to those restaurants. Excellent Meal!
The food was great! Cool atmosphere outdoors down on the riverfront. The special small plates (sweet and spicy roasted pork), flat bread with fig and onion marmalade and gorgonzola, and organic veggies from their own garden...a surprise of a great meal in Petaluma. Best Root Beer Ever!!
If you love root beer and good food, Dempsey's is the place. It is my all time favorite restaurant not only because of the excellent service, but their chicken Caeser salad is to die for. They chicken breast literally melts in your mouth and the lettuce is full leaves which gives it a gorgeous presentation. Not to mention their cocoa crème brulee.
