Not up to snuff There's a Texas Cattle Company near where I live in Ventura County, so I thought I'd take a meal at the one in Ridgecrest. It's now on my list of restaurants I'm least likely to revisit any time soon. No wonder there weren't many patrons during the evening meal. Ridgecrest has some pretty good places to eat, but this wasn't among them. [15 Nov 2003 10:53:23]

hot waitresses After a long drive through Death Valley, we stopped to eat in Ridgecrest. Passing up Mickey D's and some shady looking places, we found Texas Cattle Company. The food is ok and the beer is cold, but the waitresses are hot. A wonderful surpise for these road-weary eyes on a Tuesday night. [27 Apr 2005 04:15:43]

Nasty It's hard to screw up a steak and salad, but Texas Cattle Company does it again and again.
I have learned over the years to go on a diet whenever in Ridgecrest. [02 Jun 2005 18:13:34]

horrible service food not much better I have never had such bad service. The waitresses are too busy flirting to get any actual service and when the food comes it's cold and not worth the money. [29 Jun 2006 15:35:22]

worse experience On September 30, 2006 I made reservations for 6 people at 6 PM to celebrate my grandson's 16th birthday. The waitress missed taking one person's order. That same person's meal when it came was not edible. I gave my meal to him after he refused to order anything else. The waitress promised not to charge for it when she took the full meal away...She charged me anyway but by the time I realized it I was home trying to recuperate from the disaster created by the staff. At the end of the meal, the person who took the reservation told me to expect an individual cake for my grandson and singing Happy Birthday which is customary at this restaurant. I also supplemented the event with a Cold Stone ice cream cake which I delivered earlier that day. The waitress was not informed that the birthday ritual was promised, she did not know there was an ice cream cake. She also has little experience in waitressing (new on the job) as I found out at the register. When I quietly walked over to the waitress and asked for the cake, the only reply I got was "I did not know about this". She brought the cake out unceremoniously, still in its store packaging, and placed it in front of my grandson along with a pile of clean cake plates. The table was still littered with our eaten meal dishes. There was no cutting knife for the ice cream cake. I was disappointed and upset that this event was ruined.
When I went to the register, a customer in front of my was receiving a refund for her terrible meal. I handed the bill and payment with the remark that this was the worst! After listing my complaints, the cashier (hostess manager) made every excuse for the problems I encountered and insisted it was not her fault nor the night staff since the day staff never told them about the cake. My response is that she was aware it was a reservation for a 16th birthday because she had the table ready. One excuse was that the new unexperienced waitress had other large groups to take care of. As a paying customer, I cannot accept her reasoning for ruining this event. To top it all, I was told that I threatened the waitress and made her cry and that I was no longer welcome in that restaurant. I was outraged by such lies. She would not allow me to hear from the waitress what I am accused of saying since the only time I spoke to her was to request the cake and I did that quietly so my grandson would not know about the surprise (which never happened anyway). My sister-in-law had joined our celebration and had made some remarks that had no animosity behind it...like wouldn't it be better if you cleared off the dirty dishes before you brought out the cake. I never said anything to this waitress that would be mistaken as a threat or other derogatory remark. I really want to find out who owns this business and file a complaint about this whole matter. Tend to Agree I'm coming back out there next week and will no doubt avoid THIS place. I was there back in July. I had a tough steak and an overdone potato (which I had had to ask for because they forgot to bring it with the meal, which I guess I should have expected, considering the pitiful salad). But then to see what I had to pay for it all was the insult added to injury. [12 Oct 2006 12:28:51]

Good Food, Decent Service Food was good and service was acceptable.
I did find the one in Palmdale to be much better.
All-you-can-eat enchilada meal stinks, but everything else was good. [12 Sep 2007 20:33:42]
