Tolerable
This place is about the only place in Riverside to congregate and meet and interact with other artists and artist lovers. Frequently closing before the posted close time and never open on holidays it falls far short of what a community coffee shop should be but it does have fair quality coffee, excellent chai, friendly staff, and the place is gay friendly without any overtones of religion (like most of their competition).    [27 Jan 2004 23:59:57]

Back to the Grind!
This little coffee shop in downtown Riverside is an eclectic jem!! Whether going there for some good coffee or a place to hang out I gaurantee you will be thoroughly satisfied. The types of people you find at the Grind are unlike any and will accept you whether you are black, white, gay, straight, in your teens or over forty as long as you are openminded and friendly. I visit this place about 3-4 times a week and am always treated w/ the most sincere hospitality. This is a great place for intellectual small talk or secluded reading. I give it a 10!    [11 Feb 2004 22:57:39]

The Best Coffee...
A very comfortable place to go in Riverside if you want to relax and have a drink of your favorite beverage. The owner has at least a smile, if not a few friendly words for everyone that come in the door.

An interesting mix of old style coziness mixed in with modern day sophistication such as Internet and microwave.    [07 Aug 2006 01:19:55]

Like out of a movie...
Back to the Grind is a nice spot to take a first date. I'd say check the calender for the entertainment in the basement. Whether it's the secluded atmosphere or the live entertainment it should be a good night with artwork, good coffee and Chinese lanterns, the rest is left up to you.    [07 Jan 2007 22:06:05]
