It's soooo good!
I went to school in Davis and now 5 years later, I have to head back up to Davis JUST to get my fill of Dos Coyotes! Everything there is really good. I especially love their big salads, border burrito, southwest burrito, and their Mahi Mahi burrito! And the green salsa keeps you coming back for more!    [23 Aug 2001 19:54:05]

What's up with this burrito ?
Hi.
My name is Wayne Barnes and I live in Yuba City Ca. I would always look foward to going to the Dos Coyotes cafe in the Arden Fair Mall because, well for one thing there isn't any decent Mexican restaurants in Yuba City, and the grilled southwestern burrito, with that smokey gillled flavor was worth the drive of forty-five minutes.
Sadly I cannot say that is so any more. The southwest burrito is just like any other boiled beef burrito that you would expect to get at all those mediocre Mexican food joints like Jimboys or Taco Bell. I wouldn't have minded paying the extra dollar that was charged because of "market circumstances"if the burrito had tasted like they used to. Please bring back the quality that made your restaurant worth the forty-five minute drive.
Sincerely
Wayne Barnes    [03 Sep 2001 19:57:11]

What would I do without Dos?!?!?!
Dos Coyotes is my absolute favorite mexican restaurant. I lived on their food when I was a student at UC Davis!
I especially love their mahi mahi burritos! Thank goodness I live close enough that I can still get my fill of Dos!    [25 Jan 2002 19:38:28]

Muy Bien!
Theres a Dos Coyotes at the mall and I just have to bring my friends there each time! It's amazing food and their platters are big enough to fill you up so there's no more room! The style of the place is also very unique.    [20 Feb 2003 00:52:34]

Get your fill at Dos
I've been to many restaurants in Davis, including Thai Recipes, Guadalahara (or whatever that restaurant is that students frequently talk about), Cafe Bernardo, etc. I've never really found a place that had a great balance of friendliness, food that tastes like a culinary symphony, and a great atmosphere (opposite of uptight) that makes one completely relaxed until I came to Dos. Everyone there seems happy and they have every reason to be. I didn't really appreciate the food until the second or third time around, when I noticed the surreal trance I was going through while eating the Salmon Burrito. I was so delighted that I lost all attention other than experiencing the taste! Dos is a place for everyone to enjoy and the prices are reasonable. I hope you make a third trip to see what I mean. Anyway, it's lunchtime.    [25 May 2003 15:07:15]

Stay for the food if you can stomach the service
Sadly, my experience (Roseville, CA; 5 July 2003; 7p) was soured by poor customer relations as soon as I purchased my meal. The young gentleman neither made any attempts at courtesy nor appreciation even as he took my money that most likely assisted in his livelyhood. There were no greetings, no thank yous, no attempts at customer relations. The rest of the cast was friendly. However, the experience begins during the monetary transaction and it echoes into the meal. As every business person knows, it's the customers who quietly never return who hurts business. Repetition and word of mouth are the key, and if you're not appreciated as a customer, the word of mouth can backfire. So to put someone who blatantly had no customer service skills at the register reflects the managerial skills that places him there in the first place.

Unfortunately, in business you must rely on first impressions constantly for customers will extrapolate their experences from there.    [06 Jul 2003 07:12:37]

Yummy in Tummy
My girls and I have our Friday lunches at Dos Coyotes in Folsom and one day I was in Roseville and I had this instant craving for Salmon Burrito...Just writing about it now makes me want to break the Friday tradition and head over there to have my fix...extra charred by the way gives it an extra smoky freshly grilled taste...Try it with the fresh mild salsa...Hmmmm Yummy in my Tummy!!!    [26 Apr 2004 14:42:50]

Moooey bueno!
Halfway through my four-year undergrad. stint at UC Davis, I wandered across the street from my apartment complex in Davis to look for a job in the Marketplace shopping center. I started working at this brand new border cafe called Dos Coyotes and from that moment loved the food and the atmosphere. I ate there almost daily and, since graduating in '93 and moving about 200 miles away, still return at least once or twice a year to get my fill of Dos. The southwest burrito, mahi mahi burrito, and yin yang salad (now called something else) and more than worth the drive. It's pretty cool to have seen Dos go from one small cafe to a series of large eating establishments. Always awesome!    [10 Oct 2005 05:05:07]
