For a veggie, who misses out on Satay Chicken try Satay Tofu, it's amazing! We liked their Panang and hope to be back there soon maybe today :) [27 Jul 2002 13:45:42]

One of the Great Thai Restaurants in Sacramento This place is great for vegetarians and vegans. A full three-page spread of delectable entrees and appetizers will amaze you with such a great variety of flavors and tastes. [06 Sep 2002 16:59:42]

Excellent Thai Restaurant I confess: I'm a Thai food fanatic! I actually make a point of trying new Thai restaurants in various areas. I've tried Thai restaurants all over California - from San Diego, to San Francisco. Amarin is one of Sacramento's best Thai restaurants.
Now, the bad news: Amarin isn't in the greatest location. It's near downtown Sacramento, and sometimes parking can take a few minutes. But, don't let that minor annoyance stop you! The food is worth it.
I recommend that you call ahead for reservations, though, if you don't - you usually don't have to wait more than 20 minutes.
The people are very friendly, and made adjustments to my order - without any problems. They have colorful walls with pictures of traditional Thai scenes, giving you plenty of things to look at while you wait for your food to arrive.
Their food is great. I've been there many times and am always impressed by their dishes. If you are a red curry lover - Amarin is sure to please.
Though, while Amarin is one of my favorite Thai restaurants I do find that their salads are just a bit sweet for my taste. But, that is the only thing that I can ever-so-slightly complain about.
By the way. They are opening another restaurant in Folsom (near Greenback & Folsom) come November/December, 2002.
I'm eagerly awaiting its opening. [21 Oct 2002 23:46:21]

Great Thai for Chicagoan Every time I travel from Chicago to Sacramento, I look forward to spending one or more evenings at Amarin Thai, one of the best Thai restaurants I've frequented (of over 100). Last trip, while visiting one of my software clients for a week, I had the fortune to eat at Amarin Thai four days in a row. This afforded the wonderful opportunity to sample many of their dishes. The soups are wonderful, both the coconut and lemon grass varieties. Don't be hesitant about ordering the vegetarian versions either, they are packed with large chunks of perfectly cooked vegetables (you could easily make your meal of this). The curries are all excellent. Make sure you stop by the chalk board (or ask your waitress) about the daily specials. A few times, I ordered dishes which were not shown on the menu, and they were prepared excellently. Eating Thai four days in a row is different than eating Thai just for a special occasion. There is no temptation to "over-order" or try some of everything. Just order simply and enjoy the dish with rice. The only thing which disappoints me is that they haven't yet opened a Chicago location; even with over 100 Thai restaurants in Chicago, there would always be room for Amarin Thai!
