Description

Weekend brunch Saturday and Sunday starting at 9 a.m. During the week they serve breakfast, lunch and, dinner from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The food is "Neo-classic American Cuisine" - which means Chef Danny Wilser may be serving anything from banana pancakes to meatloaf and mashed potatoes to poached sea bass to arugula - pear salad. The menu changes weekly. All of the baked goods are baked right there.

Atmosphere is casual and very friendly.

Ella's is a classy little place decked out in spiffy... - Digital City - suggest change

Yeah, it's true...Ella's doesn't take reservations, but this is still a great place for brunch. Don't forget to bring the Sunday paper to read while you wait in line for a table. - CitySearch - suggest change

Ellas - A Neo Classical Tradition
Ellas is casual and understated - just like the owners: Chef Danny Wilser and Robert Merryman. The food and service are consistently excellent. The menu changes weekly and ranges from meatloaf and mashed potatoes to poached sea bass to arugula-pear salad. All baked goods are made fresh daily at the restaurant.

Try the desserts, especially the pies and cakes - they are TDF.

Weekend brunch at Ellas is a San Francisco tradition. Become part of the counter culture at the counter and watch the fun and talk with the chef as he prepares your meal.    [07 Dec 1999 09:06:24]
