paul k - Hip Hayes Valley Mediterranean Restaurant
I'm a San Franciscan looking for local cool bar-grill type places. Hayes Valley steps up with paul k, which has it all. The tone is kind of "bar & grill" industrial, yet warm, with attractive hosts and servers... a bit European. I've never experienced a hip approach to Eastern Mediterranean cuisine. It's definately mainstream with unique flavors and combinations. I've given it the highest rating, knowing that there are much more elaborate and fancier places; but this is one of a kind.
