A San Francisco institution, Shangri-La has been drawing raves since 1978 for its vegetarian Chinese food. Most dishes are vegan, and no MSG is used.

I definitely recommend it. My partner and I went there for dinner last night, and the food *felt* healthy in our bodies. We got --

A soup of vegetarian lamb and wolfberries, in panax/ginseng broth

A spicy curried vegetable tofu dish, with rice

A black sesame sweet cream soup for dessert

The grand total was $14 + tip!
