We really like Lo Coco's Pizza in San Rafael We go here pretty frequently. We get just your basic cheese or sometimes pepperoni pizza. We are really finicky about our pizzas and have searched high and low in Marin and SF for a good pizza with the right combo of sauce, and dough, with the right amount of cheese. Lo Coco's sauce is so yummy, not too acidic, not too sweet, just right. Sometimes it is more garlicky than other times though, but most of the times very mild. The best part is the dough. Exactly the right chewiness and crunchiness. Oh so good. We have never experienced sogginess. Of course we don't load up our pizzas with stuff. On occassion when they are very busy the bottom gets burned, which we really hate. So we try to go when they are not busy and then it's not a problem. The green salad is okay, but what's great is the salad dressing, namely the Ranch. I think it's homemade. Oh man we could eat 2 of those just because of the dressing. However, they are terribly overpriced. They are $4.50 and really should be about $2.50 or so. I mean salads for two people should not cost $9 at a pizza place. Afterall I think they're just iceberg lettuce. The sodas are expensive and there are no free refills. So what should be a relatively inexpensive dinner for two ends up being kind of expensive. So we unfortunately go not as frequently as we'd like to go. But if cost is not a problem, I highly recommend them, they are very very good! On a non busy night the service is great, on a busy night it's kinda slow, but always nice. The people there are quite nice. [14 Mar 2004 17:42:27]
