One of Many Excellent Italian Restaurants in SC There are many in the area to choose from, but this one is right downtown. Lots of good seafood dished (obviously), attentive and knowledgable staff, and nice people-watching location. Afterwards, go to Chocolate Cafe for dessert! [16 Apr 2004 12:34:47]

Delicious! Absolutely delicious food. Fresh, prepared to perfection, a true taste of Italy with a bit of French flair added to the menu. The wine list is quite good, too. [24 Feb 2005 18:48:28]

Really Good Food While visiting Santa Cruz, we stumbled upon Cafe Mare. We had a great experience. We tried the recommendation of the waiter: some crepes stuffed with butternut squash -- delicious -- and some pasta with seafood with the house pinot grigio. [29 Aug 2007 21:58:08]

Best Italian in Santa Cruz Cafe Mare is great restaurant! I love the elegant atmosphere and of course, the homemade potato dumplings and the spaghetti mistomare and the whole wheat bread and . . . I go there ridiculously often and I love it. Highly recommended. [14 Sep 2007 17:30:21]
