Best Sushi North of San Francisco Sushi Hana, the classic Sebastopol sushi bar and restaurant, is indisputably the best of its class north of San Fran. Adorning the walls of the bar are recommendations from artists, musicians and hipsters from around California and the world. Check it out next time you're in Sebastopol, or anywhere in the Sonoma County region. [15 Mar 2004 19:45:31]

Best Sushi North of San Francisco Sushi Hana is a gem -- a little hard to find but worth it. They have all of the normal things you would find in a good Japanese restaurant, and then they have sushi. Their offerings of nigiri sushi are good and include all of the standards.
But the rolls! They have some of the most imaginative rolls you have ever come across. I have business colleagues in San Diego and in Maryland that look for excuses to visit me so they can have the rolls at Sushi Hana. So what's so different?
Bodega Sunset - avocado & maguro uramaki with salmon (smoked or pickled) on top served with a dipping sauce of sake, wasabi, & honey. Do I have your attention?
Gilroy Maki - a larger roll with three different types of garlic. Mmmmmm.
Salmon Tempura Roll - cooked salmon that is rolled into a large maki that is then dipped in batter and done Tempura. Wow!
Great Futomaki, spider rolls, Hawaiian rolls, etc.
If you get there early enough, ask your waiter if they have any hamachi kama. These are the cheeks of the hamachi they use for the sushi. They grill them to perfection and serve them with an amazing dipping sauce of (guessing) mayonnaise, soy, and some other stuff we haven't figured out yet. Absolutely fantastic! [13 Nov 2004 19:47:34]
