The Best In Los Angeles!
This very Italian restaurant is wonderful! Food is very fresh, authentic and always served with Italian flair! (I think all their waiters are from Italy.) We go every week! Oliva is a 10+! Enjoy    [21 Oct 2003 14:18:25]

A Trip to Italy right in the Heart of Sherman Oaks
This place is amazing!!! From the moment I walked in the door, I was greeted as if I was in Italy. They have so many nightly specials and everything I ate was fantastic! The wait staff is all Italian and the food is imported. I was told that the owner's family has made olive oil in Italy for generations and this is the only place that you can get it in the US. Definitely worth the trip and the bill was so reasonable! An 11 on a scale of 1-10.    [01 Nov 2004 02:11:49]

Oliva Trattoria is horrible...we took my mother to dinner only to be told by the waitress that if we had come for enchiladas they did not serve those there. My family including my 91 year old grandmother was very offended. The management simply disregarded the racist stament as a "joke." The racism of their staff shows their complete ignorance. The waitress assumed that as a Latino family we must be Mexican. She also assumed that as Latinos we must be stupid and must not understand the type of cuisine the restaurant offers. The treatment that memebers of the Latino community receive from this establishment is unexcusable. Boycott this restaurant. Spend your money supporting businesses that respect ALL their customers.    [30 Mar 2006 18:38:09]

Are you kidding?
The above restaurant review of Oliva can't possibly be accurate, can it? Was the server's comment relayed to the owner of the restaurant? If it is accurate, then it is inexcusable, of course. I would have left any restaurant, or any other business establishment, for that matter, if this had happened to me. There is no excuse for this type of treatment.

In any event, my experiences (and there have been dozens over the years) at Oliva is a warm and welcoming restaurant, where the food is delicious and the service, while sometimes a little slow (perhaps the kitchen is inundated with orders) is always courteous without being obsequious. We are lucky to have Oliva in Sherman Oaks.    [14 Feb 2007 11:13:23]

Fabulous Food
This place is great. I have only been in LA for a month and a friend and I went there last night. It was the best food I have had in a long time. I am from Seattle and it tops some of Seattle's finest places. Yummy! And the servers were nice, accommodating and authentic. I will go back. I had the seafood mare with the red sauce, but all the specials sounded divine. The creme brulee is great. Great wine list too.    [18 Mar 2007 11:21:14]

Best Italian Restaurant in Los Angeles!
Oliva Restaurant has to be the BEST Italian restaurant in Sherman Oaks; in fact, it has to be the best Italian restaurant in Los Angeles. My wife and I were there a few weeks ago and recently went back there with our kids. It is great for an intimate date for two or for a family get-together. They have meals for practically any taste if you are in the mood for pasta or seafood. On the other hand if your kids are young and picky and simple, they have great PIZZA! The food is great and you will NEVER leave hungry or dissatisfied. You will leave FULL and HAPPY and feel that you stepped into a TRUE Italian restaurant, as if you were in Rome itself. It was a treat in every sense of the word. Oh! And not to mention the Tiramisu is to die for.

Leave the cooking to the PROS! Leave it to Oliva!

Food excellent!    [15 Oct 2007 17:18:09]
