Mama Mia What a surprise. A tiny place in a little shopping center. Not much to look at, but the food is magnificent! Fresh, tasty, and nothing tastes like it came out of a can like other higher end Italian restaurants in the immediate area. Great pasta, sides, and the salad bar is unbelievable. Fantastic What a fantastic place! Lots of great beer on tap. Plenty of good veal dishes and outstanding steamed mussels. Staff is friendly. Wish I had known about this restaurant earlier. I wasted a lot of money at inferior places. Enjoy! [09 May 2006 13:00:09]

Spotty Dining here can be, but is not necessarily, a fine experience. Most of the food is quite good, but some very pedestrian. The service ranges from very good to way too lax. Seems nobody is in charge of the place and it is hard to get attention unless your server wants to give it. Friendly. [10 Feb 2007 10:31:39]

Best Pizza Ever I have been eating pizza at Caruso's for over 20 years. Unfortunately the restaurant did change ownership a few years back and a lot of the charm it originally held also left, but thankfully, the quality of the food had remained the same.
I have had pizza everywhere, Chicago, New York...but nobody makes better pizza than Caruso's. The cheese is just amazing and their house salad with fresh homemade Italian dressing is a must. I didn't discover the salads 'til a few years ago...and now I actually eat more salad there than I do pizza!
The service is not the fastest or best you will find, but hey this is a small town restaurant. The girls are nice and they are also very busy! Besides...the food is worth the wait. If you have never been to Caruso's before...you must go. It is the 8th wonder of the world! [11 Feb 2007 22:27:23]

Sylmar Type of Place I have been eating here for 30 years. It's a no frills blue collar family type of place. Perfect for the no pretense Sylmar ambience. Several years back the restaurant was sold to a nephew of the Caruso's, Giovanni. He has made great strides in expanding the menu and improving the quality of the cuisine. He also has also extensively redecorated the place. Numerous specials are constantly added. The quality of the food, especially the sauces, is superb. No higher priced establishment in the valley can compete. Pasta with mushroom sauce, shrimp diavola, pizza and even mahi-mahi are all delicious. The dinner salads (included with main dishes) are abundant and include cheese, garbanzos, olives as well as lettuce. At reasonable prices you will find food that's delicious. Forget Ventura Blvd. with its high prices. [26 Mar 2007 17:59:41]

It's Gone Downhill I have been eating here for years. The food was good and the staff was friendly. Their service has gone downhill. Their food is inconsistent; one day it's good and the next time it's bad. There is a high employee turnover. (I'm not sure what this says about the management.) If you like Vegas, then you might be ok with the gamble on this place. [02 Nov 2007 21:20:28]
