Great Sushi! I've been to Akamoo's several time and have never gone away unhappy. He will create special dishes catered to your taste.
Check out happy hour from 5-6 for $1 sushi and Mondays all-you-can eat for $25 per person.
Akamoo's rocks! [26 Sep 2003 19:16:59]

Sushi with Hawaiian flare The Poki is unreal, both ahi poki and tako poki. Freshest fish in town of all sushi bars. Akamoo lerans what you like and each time you visit he is already preparing your favorite dish. For non-sushi people and kids, they have Kalua pig, kalbi ribs, chicken, etc. Great atmosphere, always a fun place to visit. Have been a regular since he opened 2 years ago. Highly recommend. You Go Now! You eat sushi; You like.
This place is THE best restaurant I've ever been to, sushi or not. Akamoo or his protege's will take GOOD care of you. Sit down, eat, drink, and bring somebody new for extra fun.
Just don't annoy the chef.. or you will get a "SHUT UP BOY". [17 Jan 2005 13:35:30]

I went there solo one night and ended up sitting between to couples doing sake bombs. The alcohol must have been free because the poke was not. I never saw my hamachi, or my spider roll, or anything I ordered.
I, too, got the "chef picks" line. I figured it must be cheap if he is advertising $0.99 sushi, plus he must buy tuna by the ton, it's all he served. $80.00 bucks later, yikes! [24 Jan 2007 23:17:05]

Fantastic Experience I have been here several times and I do concede that the first time I was a bit taken aback. There is no menu. You tell Akamoo what you like and what you don't like. He then prepares the sushi for you. If you don't like what he makes, there is no charge. I have not tested the no charge policy because there is nothing I haven't liked.
The last time I was there a young guy came in and said that he only had $10 and wanted to get 3 or 4 rolls. Huh? Akamoo politely told him he couldn't do that.
If you go, put your trust in Akamoo. You will not be disapointed. You will spend about $40 per person with drinks. If you are on a budget, go for the happy hour and tell Akamoo that is all you want. You have to speak up! If you only want to spend $18, tell him. Akamoo loves to talk and that is part of the experience. If you want to toss some cheap sushi down your throat and leave, this is not the place for you.
If you can't get with the program, go somewhere that has pre-made all you can eat sushi. For me however, this is by far my favorite place for sushi anywhere. [21 May 2007 17:04:15]

Freshest Fish in Temecula By far the best.
They serve "omakase" style, which means chefs choice. You tell the chef what types of fish you like, wether you like it spicy or not, then they make you something special.
They also have cigar nights, ladies nite, luaus the last saturday of every month, with all you can eat Hawaiian buffet, live music and hula dancers. Lots of fun! [17 Jul 2007 19:39:42]
