Let me begin by saying I have never written a scathing review of a restaurant and the only reason I did not cause a problem at La Bamba was that my boss was buying and I wanted to avoid the embarrassment.

Overpriced and not as good as a Swanson TV Dinner.

Margaritas were flavorful and very strong but at 13.00 per pitcher they should be. The pichers were warm because the margaritas were melted already when poured. The marketing plan is apparently "Get the patron drunk so they won't realize how bad the food is".

The waitress was happy & bubbly and extremely overworked.

Taco soup is nothing more than minnestrone broth and barley with 3 pieces of tortilla dropped in. The salads were wilted and tasted of a stale refrigerator.

One of the house specials, a specially prepared NY steak was 1/4" thick, dry and prepared like a chicken fried steak with no Mexican spices (To the Chef....cumin is an amazing thing).

The fish tacos were dry with nothing but a little fish and some Parmesan cheese and a little lettuce and peppers on the the side.

The frijoles would significantly patch cracks in a driveway and the rice truly had to be taken from a low budget TV dinner.

The owners of this restaurant must be in total denial as to the quality of the food and to as how long they will stay in business.    [29 Jul 2006 15:53:55]
