A popular chain Nothing outstanding here. Usually a very long wait and the wait times they give you are optimistic, at best. Seems to be a lot of turnover among the wait staff. A family atmosphere and expect quite a few kids. [07 Feb 2001 17:05:40]

Great restaurant The family atmosphere is fantastic. Although there may be a frequent turnover of servers, the service I received was wonderful. The food was good, the prices were great, an altogether great experience. [10 Jul 2003 18:17:44]

Mimi's in Garden Grove, CA My husband & I eat at Mimi's frequently, BUT we have one complaint: why is the soup so salty? We many times for lunch, have soup/salad or soup/sandwich, etc. Some soups are o.k. i.e., corn chowder, but others are so salty we can't eat them. I the reason they're so salty because the cooks use an extra salty prepared chicken base? We would like especially to eat the onion soup, but always its too salty. We are both good cooks so we know what goes into soups.

Don't miss the seasonal Pumkin Pancakes! Great for families. Excellent for breakfast. Fun, colorful decor. Good service though sometimes the waits are long. [21 Nov 2003 00:44:33]

Great for Kids. After boring my 2 year old to death with chicken nuggets and grilled cheese, which is all you can find in most restaurants, I was surprised by the choice at Mimi's. They have pasta and a turkey dinner, and the meal is a bargain. Just $3.99 for a full kid's meal, dessert and drink. The food was great and the service even better. The waiter even hid dessert behind her back to check if it was OK with me for her to have it! Great place to take small kids. The restaurant is busy and quite loud, so an active 2 year old blends in well. [06 Jan 2004 11:54:49]

It's a chain Popular for reasons that elude me. The food is decent but not exceptional. The prices are fair but not exceptional. The service actually suffers. The wait to get in and for the food is intolerable. [02 Mar 2005 14:59:40]
