Wonderful Wonderful place to eat. The staff is friendly, and the food is delicious! A bit pricey but wonderful. The atmosphere since they remodeled is very calm, almost romantic. They have re-painted the ceiling, added a center divider, and the music is soft enough to hear. A big Thumbs Up. [13 Mar 2003 18:25:37]

Horrible food & service As if one bad meal at a restaurant is not bad enough, our family decided to give Merchant & Main another try 8 months after the first experience. The service stunk. The waitress made her way to the table 20 minutes after we sat down, took our order, returned in segments to disburse our salads and soups, then again in segments to disburse our meals- after that, we did not see her until our bill was presented to us. At no time did she nor management (in the event they were short staffed) make their way to our table to ask if we needed anything- including re-fills on our drinks.
The food was lacked flavor and presentation. The aujus that accompanied the tasteless prime rib (by the way Arby's roast beef sandwiches are better than this prime rib-save yourself the time and money and just go to Arby's) was nothing more than lamb juice. The salad that was $12.99 was nothing more than a glorified dinner salad with the children's menu chicken fingers rested on top of the salad.
This by far was the worst dining experience I have ever encountered. When we asked to see the manager, after waiting 10 minutes she never arrived. If you are going to spend the money for a nice meal with a friendly service staff, go to the Old Post Office. Your meal is worth every penny.
By the way, the only reason that we decided to give Merchant and Main a second chance is that we had a $25.00 gift certificate that we won. Even with that factored in, we still didn't get what we paid for. And to top all of this off, our credit card was double billed for the lousy meal. Doesn't get any worse than this.
