I have gone to Strings many times. The service is excellent, and the owners are very personable. The wait staff made me feel at home, and the salad is to die for. It's the dressing, loaded with sunflower seeds and raisins. The great thing is you can eat as much as you want, it comes with all orders.I have also hade other dishes, the seafood Salmon Nicolette is scrumptious, as well as the Fuiti De Mare. All in all I would completely recommend it to anyone.    [01 Dec 2003 01:14:43]

We have eaten at Strings twice. The first time we came away disappointed because we love Italian food and were expecting something close to Olive Garden. We went the second time because we thought maybe we had ordered a bad dish or something. We came away from our second experience with the determination that we would look elsewhere for Italian food.    [10 Jun 2004 19:29:51]

I have been to Strings many times and have always enjoyed their meals. In fact, my daughter worked for Strings while attending UC Davis. I do know that Strings had a high expectations of their staff to provide excellent customer service at that time. I recently brought my friend to the Vacaville Strings for her birthday dinner. She has also eaten at Strings several times and enjoyed the meals she had. This time, the special was listed on a board as we walked in. She was excited that a dish she particularly likes was one of the specials, so she ordered it. It was not listed on the menu for some reason. When the dish was served, my friend asked the waitress about the how the dish was prepared. It was not prepared the way she has always had it other places. My friend said she would like to reorder. The waitress became very angry, snatched the dish away and came close to hitting my head as she swung the dish over my head (sitting on the opposite side of the table). The waitress became more and more angry as time went on, to the point that she would not allow my guest to speak to her by cutting her off and walking away. We asked for the manager, and she said she was the manager. We asked her twice to give us the manager's name and she said he would be in the next day both times. It goes on from there . . . she did not charge me for my guest's dinner; however, by that time, it was not a consolation for us, because we both felt abused by this one woman. If I were the manager, I would ask her to join an anger management group and go to customer service workshops.

An advocate for stopping abuse and intimidation in every area.    [18 Jul 2007 01:33:58]
