Cha-Am = Rude Management My boyfriend and I went to Cha Am (in Vallejo) for dinner on June 27, 2003 and left upset and hungry. After waiting for our food for almost an hour, we decided to tell the person at the register (because our waiter was nowhere to be found) to cancel our order. The manager heard and said that our order is coming up without even checking the kitchen. We told him that we had been waiting for almost an hour and we'd rather leave. Instead of apologizing he said, "No, no, no way; not an hour! Why don't you go to McDonald's." I could not believe a manager would say something this rude to customers and in front of his employees. My boyfriend and I are not the type of people that would make a scene out of a situation like this, so all we could do was to leave. I would really advise the owner(s) of Cha Am to take a good close look at his appointed manager, because I think the success of a business depends upon its management. I surely will NEVER go back to Cha Am in Vallejo. [03 Jul 2003 18:30:57]

GREAT THAI Really good freshly prepared food with a good selection of specials. Noisy "family" dining room and the waiters get a little harried. I've been a dozen times and have never had to wait more than 20 mins. [26 Jul 2004 14:28:35]

Good food, Great service I've been eating at Cha am more than 4 years. I can feel that the service since couple months ago is much better. I get my food at the same time. All the waiters are very friendly, especially the manager who is very charming and can speak my language - philino. My family and I enjoy eating at Cha am very much and we will keep going to the place. [05 Feb 2005 23:54:31]

Good food? Hah! The food is average. With the East Bay full of Thai restaurants there is no need to settle for this place. And don't even get me started on the water glasses...what the heck is that all about? [26 Feb 2006 14:33:38]

Do not go there on weekend Cha Am is a very good Thai restaurant, but do not ever go there on Saturday or Sunday - bad service. Maybe because they are too busy on those days but the weird thing is there is no manager who is responsible on that day, but if you go there on weekday you'll get the best service ever. Ask for Andy.. .he is friendly and helpful. Do not forget to order Mu Yang So Yum.. [25 Jun 2006 01:02:19]

HORRIBLE SERVICE A friend and I were seated at 6:40pm on December 27, 2006. Our water came with our meals (instead of before our meals). We were sitting there thirsty the entire time. When our food did finally arrive, of course there was something wrong. The dish that she brought me contained mushrooms which were requested to be left out. The waitress took my dish back and was never to be seen again. She did not refill our water the entire time we were there, did not ask if we needed refills of our Thai Iced Tea. Remember we were seated at 6:40pm, I watched my friend eat and eat for almost an hour; the waitress returned at 7:50pm! From 6:40pm-7:50pm I am seated, my order taken and no food! When my order came I told the waitress this was the worst Thai restaurant I had ever been to. She replied smiling (I kid you not), her exact words: "oh ok hee heee heee".
I asked her in the beginning for a split check to which she needed to be reminded again (surprise) when she brought our combined check.
The food I received was mediocre. The food portions were also medicore, borderlining small portions for the price.
This restaurant has HORRIBLE customer service, no one should be left waiting for 50 minutes without their food brought to them. [28 Dec 2006 10:49:03]
