Good tacos for the neighborhood
El Tarasco has a good menu, good tacos, and great burritos. Other than that...eh. It's great for the neighborhood it's in, but better Mexican fare is to be had at dozens of taco stands, if you want to make the drive.    [23 Jul 2003 19:57:54]

Best Ever!
El Tarasco isn't just "good tacos for the good neighborhood", it's one of the best Mexican restaurants around! The ambience isn't culturally authentic, but it's friendly and receptive! The food comes fast and the guacamole is really good. Don't pay attention to any health code rating, the food is great and that's all you need to worry about.    [07 Mar 2004 21:43:41]

AMAZING Mexican food
This is one of those places where it's in between the grubby, delicious places like Del Taco, Taco Bell, or Chanos (by the USC campus) and the high rent places like Lula's in Santa Monica. It's great food and reasonable prices (even though they did give the prices a bit of a boost this past year). Their burritos are some of the best around, and their chili rellenos are unbeatable.
