Outstanding Pho!
We've been looking for a good Pho restaurant in North County. In comparison to, for instance, Pho Cadao on Mira Mesa Blvd., most NC Pho restaurants are not in the same league.

Enter Pho Lucky! This establishment is right up there with the best.

Located in a corner of a larger strip mall on Sycamore Avenue, this restaurant is good sized. Red leatherette booths line the perimeter, with tables filling in the center. They can accommodate an intimate party, or a much larger gathering. The decor is somewhat non-descript, clean, and the lighting is just right.

Service is excellent. From the moment you walk in until you pay your check, you will feel well attended to and professionally cared for, while never feeling "smothered".

This is all well and good, however, one goes to a restaurant for the food. Here, Pho Lucky shines. We ordered Egg Roll and Spring Roll appetizers. They were both excellent. The egg rolls were hot, crispy, and very tasty. The spring rolls were also fresh and delicious. Complemented by the vinegrette and peanut sauces, our anticipation was heightened for the coming Pho.

Given that Pho is the main attraction, we were not disappointed. The broth was very flavorful, and all guests in our party very much enjoyed their orders. The noodles were excellent, with the fillings done just right. Portions were ample. The condiment tray at each table was stocked with everything you'd expect, and the embellishment trays were provided with fresh basil, bean sprouts, lime wedges, jalapeno, etc.

As for value, you'll be quite pleased with the quality of your meal given the cost.

Best Pho in North County
Pho Lucky's pho is up there with the best pho in Mira Mesa (e.g., Pho Ho Cali). The other pho joints in N.C. serve you some lukewarm broth with a few noodles and some meatballs. Pho Lucky gives you the real thing, with all the right veggies and correct critter parts.    [25 Aug 2007 13:20:21]
