A terrible experience for the last time Tonight was the third time within 30 days ordering a pizza from this particular Papa Johns, and it was also the last. If I ever do business with Papa Johns Pizza again, it will be from another location.
The first time -
The driver got lost. I live around the corner. While ordering, I specifically asked to ensure it was prepared with thick crust, and what arrived was the thinnest pizza I've ever had. It was accepted due to time constraints.
The second time -
I decided to give them another shot, thinking it couldn't possibly be as bad as last time. Fortunately all was well and the pizza *was* good - though the driver got lost again. It was a different driver, but I haven't moved - I still live around the corner. This experience was acceptable.
Tonights was anything but.
After ordering, it took about 90 minutes (an hour and a half) to arrive. Roughly 45 minutes from placing my order, the driver called to say they were lost.
Are you laughing? It gets better.
It took another 45 minutes before it arrived. Shortly before it did I called and talked with a manager, who gave me two options -
1. Check the pizza when it arrives and accept it
or
2. Deny it and they'll credit my account, given it was a credit card transaction.
That was it. No apology, no incensitves to order again in the future, no discounts, no extras, no "sorry" of any kind. It was either accept it or go somewhere else. And very rude and indifferent, all the while. Terrible.
When it arrived, it was cold. The delivery guy didn't say ANYTHING. He didn't apologize, and was in fact quite rude. I always tip, or rather...now I can say I almost always tip. He sure as hell didn't deserve one. So why did I accept it? Because it was 10:30 and I ordered a pizza because I didn't want to leave the house in the first place to get dinner.
And surprise surprise, the pizza was paper thin, and actually drooped - while cold.
I'm never ordering from the *Walnut* Papa Johns ever again. If you're reading this and considering doing so, look elsewhere. [25 Apr 2004 02:12:35]
