Spectacular for food and ambiance
Love the food and the ambiance. This is a great restaurant for excellent food whether you are in a casual or enchanting mood. Keep yourself hungry because the food at this place is rich and delicious.

Slipped a Lot
It had been a couple of years or more since we dined at Caffe della Stelle. What a disappointment!!!! I used to love the Pasta Rustica -- potato pasta, fontina cheese, etc. The dish was awful! A wait person came by and asked how everything was; as I started to say, he walked off! Finally I got the attention of our waiter, who spent all his time on the phone. When he came over he said, "Well, do you want me to do something about it?" DUH! I had taken one bite and had been sitting there for about 30 minutes. My husband ate part of his so-so meal.

Finally the waiter comes back out and says, "Well, they just made up a new batch; yours was from what they made on Tuesday" -- egads, this was Friday. The new plate was better, but not anything to rave about.

Now while we waited the server offered us a glass of wine. Then charged us for it!

I wouldn't go back again -- bad food, bad service! Too many great places in Walnut Creek to go there ever.    [17 Mar 2008 16:58:16]

Awesome!
I had the most wonderful meal! I had to go back the next night to try something else. If business had kept me in Walnut Creek another night, I would have returned again. Food was fantastic, service was great, ambiance - five-star. I am usually eating alone and tend to be ignored by staff -- but not here! Everything was just great.    [15 May 2008 16:46:30]
