great food great value Fresh and excellent food. Friendly service. Always consistent.
Not exactly cozy, but a nice clean atmosphere with beautiful murals on the walls. Some personal favorites are the orange chicken, shrimp rice noodle soup, lemon grass chicken, hot or cold spring rolls, and green papaya salad, thought everything I have had there is good with the exception of the mussels appetizer which I found to be an odd pairing of mussels and a peanut vinaigrette, also the shredded pork is dry and a bit bland compared to the bbq style pork that is on the papaya salad and other dishes. The tableside bbq dishes are excellent, but be prepared to build your own wraps, which is fun if you are in the mood.
The iced coffee is sweetened with condensed milk, highly caffeinated, and excellent. Not a good before-bedtime beverage, but great after lunch. (For take out coffee make sure to call ahead so you don’t have to wait for it to brew, as each serving is individually prepared.)
This is the only restaurant anywhere to have a place on my cell phone speed dial for takeout. Parking can be an issue in downtown WC, but there is a garage across the street. [06 Dec 2003 01:16:14]

Big disappointment Of all the many choices to dine in Walnut Creek my daughter and I unfortunately decided on this restaurant last night. We had four items from the menu. The fresh spring rolls were very bland and tired tasting. My daughter had the sour soup with shrimp. It was so sour it was almost inedible and the vegetables were overcooked, all she could do is pick out the shrimp and leave the rest. I had the beef pho soup which is suppose to be the signature dish of Vietnamese restaurants. Not impressed at all, the noodles were clumped together and only half cooked, very meager portion of meat and the broth was only okay. At least it was semi edible. The fourth dish, sweet and sour pork (I admit a bad choice at any Asian restaurant) was a disaster. Bland cubes of fried pork swimming in an overly sweet red goop. I was not even impressed by the Vietnamese beer, not much different than Budweiser. If you're in the mood for Vietnamese stick to the authentic places, much more flavorful and cheaper too.
