Bella Vista, badda experience This restaurant must be surviving on its reputation as one of the original high-quality restaurants on the Peninsula. That, however, was 50 years ago. This place is absurdly, preposterously expensive. You could dine at the Ritz Carlton, Postrio, Aqua, etc. for less, and enjoy a much finer experience. The interior decor is shabby and the entire place should have been given a face lift decades ago. The bathroom looked like a bathroom you'd see in a run down bar, not a fine restaurant. It has a nice view. So does the Cliff House in San Francisco, and you'd be foolish to buy dinner there too! [21 Feb 2002 12:52:20]

Thatzza Bella! You can't get finer service anywhere. Ditto the view. The food is neither trendy nor politically correct, but is absolutely delicious.
My review is based on probably 10-15 visits (meals or drinks or both)over about 15 years. A couple of those visits were in the past 6 months. [17 May 2002 03:07:40]

Bella Vista; Bella dining experience! Great atmosphere! Supurb view! Outstanding service! Excellent menu! Expensive enough to keep riff-raff out :-) The Salmon is fabulous! Excellent wine cellar! Have eaten there many times, the most recent 01/18/03. [19 Jan 2003 18:20:52]

Fantastic This is one of the premier restaurants in the world. The views, bar fireplace and especially the waiters and host John Ward make this one of the best globally. [19 Feb 2003 13:53:46]

The Best The Bella Vista is the finest restaurant. The wine list, food and view are fantastic and other restaurants have that too.. the contribution that tips the scales to making it the finest dining experience around are the people working there. They make it very enjoyable and make you feel like you are at home.
I have been dining there since 1983 and never get tired of it!. [15 Apr 2003 10:24:41]

Excellent all the way around. The service was perfect and so was the Chicken Jerusaleum. We had a very enjoyable dining experience at Bella Vista and will return. [02 Nov 2003 16:28:41]

Absolutely phenomenal My husband-to-be and I have frequented Bella Vista quite a few times to our delight. The setting overlooking a gorgeous view of the bay area is enough to create a beautiful and romantic dinner experience. The food was superb. This has now become one of our favorite restaurants. What a pity! A funky comfortable restaurant cloaked in a French cuisine menu. The view is terrific but it is questionable whether it is worth driving here for what is very ordinary and unimaginative French food. The management would do well to find a first class executive chef who can compete with leading restaurants in the area. This one cannot! [01 Sep 2006 23:37:56]
