What A GREAT PLACE!!
I have been going to Calico for years...I when I walk by the Calico House I knew something was different....It was OPEN!! We went in for lunch..and came back for dinner & breakfast. It was some of the BEST food I had eaten in years..It was FRESH, FAST & TOO YUMMY!! I brought people up from Barstow & Vegas..they could not believe this diamond in the rough...From their more then plenty kids combos to ELEGANT crab stuffed mushroom, the HEARTY steak (which was better then I have had in Las Vegas in a longtime), the Suculant SHRIMP scampi & THE HOMEMADE SOUPS!! (They are to die for!!) The Hamhocks and bean soup was the BEST I had ever had the pleasure of putting in my mouth. AND I haven't even told you about the PEANUTS you get to throw all over!! How cool is that!! Lets not forget about the people Tthat are the SALT of the EARTH. It not everyday or all 3 days we were there that the owner comes by to say HELLO and thanks you for coming back for a visit...If you get the chance.... STOP!! It is WAY better than Baker or Lenwood. Not to mention there is a lot that a family can do & see there...HISTORY that a family can take back home with them....Thats got to be better then a Thermometor...Right?    [28 Jun 2006 21:40:38]
