Never again!
As we stay in Crescent City almost monthly, we have always eaten our evening meal at the Peddler as it is next to our motel. The restaurant was not busy but did not have my first choice in meals, so I ordered the meatloaf dinner which came out very mushy, not firm, to the point it was was to be served and eaten with a spoon. When I asked after being served whether rolls were to be included, the waitress checked the cook and told me they forgot to order rolls and was sorry. Nothing else was offered.

The waitress was more interested in conversation with friends she was sitting with at another table.

My wife and myself felt like we were imposing by eating there.

You need a new manager at this location who could whip it back into what it use to be.    [07 Jul 2003 15:10:31]

What A Rip Off
My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary at the coast and stopped at the Crescent City Apple Peddler because of the big sign out front that said "Fresh Seafood". I ordered the Seafood Sampler and asked if they could substitute shrimp for the scallops as I don't care for scallops. I was told by the waitress there would be an extra 15 cent per shrimp charge for the substitution. When my bill arrived, there was an extra $2.00 PER SHRIMP charge. I asked to speak to the manager and basically was told if I didn't like the charge it was too bad, just pay my bill. He would not listen to anything we had to say. Then I heard him say to another customer "They thought they'd get away without paying". The manager was very rude. The seafood was frozen, not fresh per the waitress, and it was NOT good.
