I just had dinner at the Aurora Summit last night. I ordered the Filet and was given a ball cut. I do not think any restaurant should serve the ball cut unless it is specifically asked for. [13 Sep 2002 09:46:21]

Overpromised & underdelivered After four attempts in a 1 year period (2002-2003), I give up. Each time reservations were made and we waited for over 30 minutes to be seated. Twice they didn't even have a table and had to get one from somewhere and put in the lounge for us. It was a table for two and there were four of us. We then had to wait nearly an hour before our food was ready. We had to beg servers to stop and wait on us. We had to go to the bar and get our own drinks all four times. The steaks were cold and poor quality for the price. If you ordered a side (the entree does not come w/anything) it is $8.00. I could buy more than 20 lbs of potatoes plus the butter for that price! Bottom line, the service is horrendous, the food is mediocre, and the price is way too high! Since the DTC Broker closed, I am not sure where to direct people to go. BUT, DON'T GO TO THE AURORA SUMMIT FOR DINNER! [04 Dec 2003 15:05:49]

very nice The steak is the best quality available and well prepared. The service is friendly and respectful if not the most attentive. Gracious atmosphere without the stuffiness and expense of a Morton's or Del Frisco's. [19 Feb 2004 23:57:44]

Was good ... back in the 90s ... From my letter to the owner:
"I am writing to express sorrow in what the Aurora Summit has become. It is no mystery why there were so few patrons last night; it is also obvious why most of those present felt it appropriate to wear casual attire.
Service: 1 out of 5 stars
After making reservations and explaining that this was our tenth wedding anniversary and that my wife and I had our first date here eleven years ago, I knew things had changed when our waitress asked, "So, is this a special occasion?" After answering, she told us that she was "struggling" at five years (which no client – especially those celebrating marriage – care to hear about). She then asked if we wanted drinks without acknowledging that I was reading the wine list. We encountered resistance when requesting a substitute for asparagus.
My water glass was repeatedly moved to my left and not placed back in the appropriate spot. Nearly empty dishes placed to the edge of the table were only removed upon request.
Maybe I should not expect this, but it has always happened in the past here and at other restaurants, so I did. We were surprised to be handed the desert menu and told how much something costs instead of being honored with a complementary treat at the end for this very special occasion. Cold Stone received our business for this course.
Wine List: 2 out of 5 stars
Two out of four French offerings were unavailable. But, you still provided the Rosemount Shiraz "best buy."
Atmosphere: 2 out of 5 stars
Why the intimacy afforded by booths was ruined with remodeling, I’ll never know. The backs were "chopped off" and staff used the corner above my wife’s shoulder to store/retrieve olive oil and vinegar – distracting.
When piano music could be heard from the bar, so too could Cyndi Lauper over the speakers.
Food: 2 out of 5 stars
My wife’s crab-cakes were good, but my carpaccio was sub-par. Despite asking for my wife’s filet to be "medium rare," it came "cool rare." The amount of Bernaise sauce provided seemed stingy. My strip steak was adequate, but had too much fat around the edge.
Overall: 1.5 out of 5 stars
We frequented your establishment multiple times in the mid-to-late nineties, but stopped after a slightly disappointing experience last time. We will not be returning." [09 Jun 2006 13:40:14]

I remember when the Aurora Summit was THE PLACE TO GO for a great steak or special occasion--even in its old location years ago. When we last went about 3 years ago for a Christmas dinner with friends, we were all disappointed. At one point, the waiter spilled wine on my husband's jacket. No apologies, or money off the meal. They just said take it to be cleaned an we'll pay when you bring in the receipt. Wow! Such service! [29 Oct 2007 21:29:31]

Not Worth the Money! The food was way over priced for what you get. The staff was hanging around the hostess stand. Took forever for our food to come out. Don't waste your time or money here. [01 Nov 2007 23:09:04]
