Penrose Room: pricey but reassuringly formal
Attractive Francophile/formal setting - low light, no more than one waiter for your table, so not TOO formal. Good place to go for anniversaries and other occasions. Good views if you tend to eat early. Live entertainment if you don't. Food was tasty and perfectly presented and sommelier was well-informed.    [27 Mar 2004 19:09:43]

Tavern Restaurant - disappointment
I gave my parents a gift for their 62nd wedding anniversary, a meal at one of their favorite restaurants, the Tavern at the Broadmoor Hotel. They had a pasta entree and wine. They told me the pasta was hard, sauce not flavorful and the wine was less than ordinary. They didn't finish their meal. How disappointing!    [18 Apr 2006 22:16:05]
