Route 66 winds its way from Chicago to LA. There is a short 'detour' that takes travelers through Colorado Springs where old fashioned burgers and homemade meals are served every day. While you eat, the Hub offers car services, including wash, wax, and full detail.

A while ago, a friend gave me a ColoradoEats gift certificate for the Hub diner. I’ve seen this place several times as I often get gas next door on my way to work and back but I never though I’d eat there.

Today, I had to get my tires rotated and, with the gift certificate in hand figured I’d try the place out. I was pleasantly surprised. The diner was clean, the staff friendly and the menu had a lot more on it than the burgers and fries I had expected.
