Best view. Ummm, did we mention the view? The Sunbird bills itself as having one of the best views in Colorado Springs. People have weddings at the Sunbird. People gather for Friday evening drinks at the Sunbird. So they are not about to go out of business if we mention that the food is really kind of boring. Sort of "Marriott does Room With A View." Beef tri-tips, that kind of thing. And you pay for the view, of course. That said, they are fairly family-friendly, nicely landscaped, the restrooms are clean, and we've never had a problem with parking. [27 Mar 2004 19:55:36]

Been there time and time again My husband and I have dined for many years in Colo. Spgs. The Sunbird has had it's elevations and declerations. Tonight (4th of July), WITH reservations, we waited outside 40 minutes for our drinks and 1 (one) hour for our appetizers..I requested our entrees immediately after our appetizers arrived; yet, when they came, there was no silverware. Not good at all. My friends soup was so salty, she could not eat it...this was NOT taken off the bill.
Fireworks were great though. [05 Jul 2005 01:55:41]

Great for Christmas We've eaten there 3 times for Christmas Brunch and it was marvelous! The 1st time it was just me and my 11 year old son and we must have eaten for 3 hours! Everything from breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert. Took my mother there 2 years ago and enjoyed it immensely. Just made reservation for this Christmas and can't wait. I get to enjoy my Christmas and not have to be in the kitchen all day. Great for moms! [27 Nov 2006 15:18:04]

Great View, Quality Has Declined In the 80's the Sunbird was the restaurant to go to! I moved away, then I tried it again on a business trip in 2002 and it was excellent--nice menu, great wine list. Then when I moved back this summer I took my Mom there for her Bday because it had been so excellent in the 80's. The menu was tragic, service marginal, and food quality... an earlier menu said it best--Marriott with a view. For the money, go to a chain... if you want a view, have a drink and an appetizer there. Awesome place We really enjoyed our visit. The place is very nice, relaxing romantic atmosphere. Food was great and the service is better than some 5-star restaurants in town. [01 Mar 2007 20:20:56]
