Real Mexican Food in North Colorado
Coming from AZ, and having been disappointed with the Mexican places we've tried here, we were beginning to despair of ever finding real salsa, spicy food, and authentic non-gringo, non-viejito food.

The last place we went, I almost left in tears because the food was literally the worst Mexican I've ever had, school lunch tacos included. (Rhymes with El Suck-ito and they describe mole' as a "gravy." I should have ran when I saw that on the menu, but I digress).

Don't despair though, my fellow Southwesterners! The food at Los Tarascos is both caliente y calor. The salsa(s) [NOT JUST ONE!] were all chunky, flavorful and tongue tingling. The homemade corn tortillas were some of the best I've ever had. I usually opt for flour (very gringo of me, I know) but these warm, soft gems were like a corn/flour hybrid.

The margaritas were good and strong. The service was friendly. Atmosphere = casual Mexican kitsch. Prices = quite reasonable.
