Un-Traditional Pseudo-Italian
Being new to the area, and in need of an Italian dining experience, we tried TR's, TWICE. Each time the service was fine, but the food was an utter disappointment. The “Chicken Marsala with mushrooms and scallions” should read "Scallion and Food Service Garlic with mushrooms and a pre-cooked, dry chicken breast with a hint of Marsala." The Chicken Saltimbocca came with the same dry chicken. The "sage and cream sauce" was lacking both sage and cream. The Saltimbocca was simply a chicken breast with a heavy dollop of Grey Poupon, prosicutto, melted cheese and canned Alfredo Sauce. The Shrimp Scampi lacked the ever-important SHRIMP. Little more than a half dozen small shrimp lay hidden under mounds of scallions. In all the pasta dishes we tried, the pasta itself seemed prepared between the lunch and dinner seatings. The marinara sauce lacked spice. Perhaps it is also used as their pizza sauce? If you are in the area, and want a palatable Italian meal, I’d recommend trying to find a Macaroni Grill or Olive Garden and skip Tony Rigatoni’s.    [01 Aug 2002 21:59:19]

We Liked it
I'm used to great Italian on the Hill in St. Louis. This is GOOD home style lots of food, tasty, Italian. The tender ravioli with Gorgonzola cream sauce is the first yummy cream sauce I've had in the Denver area. The "sausage" filling tasted like the delicate veal filling I'm used to. My husband and brother in law are crabby reluctant restaurant consumers, they loved the large heavy home style spaghetti with sausage and tomato sauce. They aren't classy and insist that "pasta" is for wimps and real men eat spaghetti.    [04 Dec 2006 17:29:10]

Usually Horrible Service, Don't Waste Your Time at the Golden Location
My husband and I live in Golden and have gone to Toni Rigantoni's numerous times. They never have enough staff, but the food has more than made up for the service. Last Friday night we came in for dinner. Our server arrived promptly, took our order and brought salads and drinks. That was the last we saw of her for 30 minutes. We finally had to flag down another server to find out what was going on with our food and server. He came back immediately with our food. When the server arrived I told her I wanted the homestyle noodles which she said sorry and didn't bother to fix it. As we hungrily dug into our food we found out it was ICE COLD. The entire restaurant lacks any teamwork or customer service. The only reason to come is for the food, and when that lacks, you've wasted an hour of your life.    [15 Aug 2007 02:13:12]

I used to love TR, I still like it.
My Husband and I have been going to the Toni Rigatoni's in Morrison since it opened. They used to have an older man who played the accordion and walk around to each table and played Italian music or it sounded like it was. The food was great with simple red sauce and huge calzones with great prices. We brought many people to the restaurant and enjoyed the quaint atmosphere.
I went for lunch one time and told the owner that I liked the old time decorations and he looked like he was going to modernize and I liked the nostalgic look it had before. It make me feel like I was in Italy. He didn't care one bit and said to me bluntly. “Well we didn't ask you did we“ I didn't go back for a while. Then as my faith got the better of me and made me realize, I'm always to forgive. And like he said, He didn't ask me for my opinion. I'm going back because I do love the location and the food is good, not great but good.    [06 Sep 2007 11:51:59]
