My New Favorite Place to Eat in Idaho Springs
I'd never heard of this place before, but while my wife and I were driving through Idaho Springs to visit family for Christmas, we stumbled across it. And we'll definitely be back. The food's all made from scratch, and the owner/cook cranks out some good stuff. I had a burger and fries and felt sorry for all the people across the street at McDonald's. The burger was fresh, hot, and tasty. The fries were homemade, cut from potatoes earlier that day. My wife had a soup and salad. They were both very good, too. I think Wildfire probably caters mostly to locals, but I'd highly recommend it even if you're just passing through. It's located very near the eastern off-ramp from I-70, on the north side of the main drag.    [07 Jan 2007 12:38:56]

Love the Hubcap Pancakes!
Matt and I came across the Wildfire Restaurant in January ‘07 while enjoying the winter sports of Colorado. We just stumbled upon this restaurant for breakfast. We had the hubcap pancakes and they were delicious! Not to mention huge – the name says it all! We have talked about this restaurant for 6 months and while vacationing this summer June ‘07, we made it a priority to go back again – this time with our 2 boys. This will definitely become a tradition as we vacation in co often!

I am such a big fan of this place that I purchased a wildfire restaurant t-shirt and will wear it proudly in my home state of Texas.
