Dogs in Restaurants? I was looking forward to this 'adventure' (although my wallet wasn't) and I was very disappointed. The food was nothing special, portions small, dessert really bad, and the worst thing was the stinky whining dogs that over ran the place. I would have been better off going for the X-country ski and packing a lunch - with no dogs!
Are dogs allowed in food establishments? [15 Apr 2003 10:09:14]

A Fun Alternative This meal, served in a gurt by some fun young people, is a great alternative to the usual dining experiences in the Vail area. While it is pricey, the 4-course meal is gourmet and delicious. You have to hike, snow shoe, or cross-country ski a short distance into the location, but the scenery is beautiful. The trip back to your car is after sunset, so they provide you with headlamps. A fun experience with a group of friends! [08 Mar 2004 14:11:54]

A Wonderful Experience We met in the new Piney Creek ski lodge before hiking the trail to the Cookhouse. Some of our group did elect to ski. We were offered drinks upon arrival and we sat out on the deck with those while one of the wait staff pointed out all of the mountain peaks. The view was spectacular. Inside the "yurt" was very cozy. We had an assortment of appetizers before our main course. We were given headlamps for our walk back to the lodge. It could not have been better. [06 Dec 2004 14:13:27]

Hippie Place with Dogs They had large dogs in the kitchen. The food is really weird. Maybe the dogs help with the cooking. [12 Sep 2005 16:45:29]

Nice experience. Fun to snowshoe to the restaurant. I felt like I got a great work out before eating. The food was a B+, but the overall experience of snowshoeing in the mountains, eating in a yurt and then skiing home made it an A-. I would recommend you try it once. [23 Jan 2006 13:50:58]
