Large Portions, Clean, Good Value We have stopped in this restaurant for 20 years after coming from Vail or Aspen. Nice, very clean place, with clean employees. We always have to take half our food with us, as the portions are just huge. They have outside tables in the summer that face Mt.Elbert, the tallest mountain in Colorado. They have a children's menu, with cute boxes they give them. Food arrives quickly. We can even watch the Broncos on their TVs. They have hard ice cream and different flavors of soft ice cream. The whole place is non-smoking,thank goodness. We tell all of our friends to stop there, and never a complaint from any of them. [31 Oct 2001 23:59:20]

Avoid at all costs Tourists seems to enjoy this place but, having lived in Leadville, ask any local and I doubt you can find one who will recommend it. Ice cream is good but, food is poor and greatly overpriced. Service varies from fair to very poor. [08 Jan 2004 02:56:09]

Not a Friendly Place Stopped in due to the advertisement seen on the highway. As soon as we walked in, two young girls stared down the children in our party. The person who took our order was a woman who appeared like she didn't want to be there. She was very rude and argued with another customer who chose to cross out their credit card information. She kept up the argument for several minutes; I felt sorry for the customer. They had the right to cross out the credit card number if they wanted. The clerk insisted that she could still look the card information up. That is kind of scary, so beware. [03 Aug 2006 23:28:24]

They Go Out of Their Way For You We love the place..very friendly never a problem, recommend to all! The trip from Denver makes it worth while. Get there early in summer because people come from all over for food. Saw a newspaper article in there from Denver Post that said its food was one of the best in state. Customer for life.
