Wow This dainty little restaurant is tucked away in an odd little town named Manitou Springs. Although the drive to it takes you through some unseemly parts of the town the arrival is grand. As you drive into the enormous dirt (made me get my clothes dirty in the rain) parking lot you find a building that seems to swell with historic pride. From the moment I entered to when I was seated I was looking at a window to the past. The servers seemed distracted once I was seated but I was later to discover this was because the owner was dining there the very same night. He was rude and loud and ruined our whole meal.
The food on the other hand was absolutely amazing. It seemed like Chef Johnson (head chef at the Briarhurst) knew exactly what I was looking for in my meal. After the owner had left the service improved infinitly and floored my wife and I. For dinner I enjoyed the taste of Colorado which featured three different types of delicious meats and my wife enjoyed the blackberry salmon. Both dishes were expertly prepared and filled to the brim of what the plates could handle.
The desserts were even better. We split a slice of chocolate pate which felt like heaven on a plate and a huckelberry mousse which did not taste as good but was still savored. [30 Mar 2005 16:05:51]

Delightful in evry sense of the word A little hard to find, but well worth the effort! A charming Victorian home has been converted into one of the most delightful restaurants I have ever visited. Some may consider it a little pricy, but after I was presented the bill I found my expereince to just a little more than Outback or Carabba's, but the food, service and atmosphere is far superior to anything I have found in Colorado! My next visit will be outside on the large tree covered patio... an amazing place!!! [15 May 2007 12:37:13]

An OFF Day ? We must have missed the great showing. The main course was over cooked, the salmon was dry and the boar was over cooked, dry and and very hard to eat. The service was not what I had expected for this type of establishment. The rest of the meal was great. I was pleased to see that the arrangement of roses for my wife was there, and they looked beautiful. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone, but I first need to know the right time to show up because Saturdays in June, during weddings isn't the right time. [12 Jun 2007 13:54:04]
