What a find! On the recommendation of a friend, stopped at this delightful, homey little bakery and cafe while passing through Montrose on the way for a soak at Orvis Hot Springs. We both had stuffed tomatoes filled to brimming with tuna salad (we could have had chicken salad also), served with our choice of side (we had tossed green salads) and a roll from their bakery. Everything was yummy. The staff is friendly, and the smell definitely whets the appetite. [26 Mar 2006 13:40:09]

Homey Feel, Great Breakfasts! This bakery/cafe is a favorite of some locals...especially those who want a less-than-ordinary breakfast. Their skillet breakfasts are phenomenal...you won't be disappointed. Their sandwiches are good, not outstanding but good. and they have a multi-grain roll they serve it on that is tasty. Their bakery...welllllll...personally I don't find their baked goods all that great as they lean to the heavy-doughy side instead of flaky offerings. But the atmosphere is relaxing and warm, very comfy to sit and meet the girls for lunch or to yack with the local old guys over a cup of coffee. [28 Jun 2006 14:37:46]

Daily bread...weekly bread? Had lunch here in January 06, and, as usual, purchased breads and cinnamon rolls to take home. We have purchased such for several years, but when getting the product home, the rolls were moldy, the whole top came off of the sunflower bread when we tried to cut it. I ended up with a pile of crumbs, and 1/2 pieces of bread to try and toast. It was so dry, it fell apart while buttering. [10 Feb 2007 15:59:08]

where is Tony? Breakfast "artist" Tony was the main reason I chose this place for breakfast. He hasn't been cooking for the last couple of weeks, and today I found out that he is NOT on vacation, but doesn't work there anymore. The new cook just can't cut the mustard, so I will be looking elsewhere for breakfast...and for Tony. [04 Jun 2008 15:15:16]
