Elkhorn Pleases Locals & Tourists With Authentic The Elkhorn Cafe in downtown Pagosa Springs offers a wide ranging menu of southwestern specialties in a comfortable diner atmosphere. The cafe is usually filled with both locals and tourists enjoying the fresh dishes made from authentic "mexicolo" recipes. Order anything with green chili and you will likely be pleased. The side dishes are every bit as good as the entrees and the whole menu is filled with flavor. The Elkhorn's atmosphere is laid-back and the service is friendly. Truly one-of-a-kind, the Elkhorn is the perfect alternative to chain restaurants and fast food. The stuffed sopapilla is a delight. Don't miss this small town gem directly across from the famed Pagosa hot springs! [03 May 2002 15:17:07]

My family and I were visiting from Phoenix. We really enjoyed our visit to this nice cozy place. The owner and staff were very hospitable and the service was great. We had breakfast and had enjoyed the Chorizo and beans breakfast platter The beans were some of the best beans I have tasted anywhere, including my own and the Chorizo and tortillas were just as tasty. The restaurant dining area and the restrooms were very clean.
We plan to visit Pagosa Springs again and we will be dining at the Elk Horn Cafe when we arrive. [13 Jul 2006 13:55:54]

You're Missing the Best We've traveled through Pagosa a number of times, and are about to become residents. The Elkhorn is one of the true gems in a great little town and it's the first place we consider eating when we hit town. I agree with all said in the two other reviews except the recommended dish, which I'd have to say is the Rellenos Rancheros with green sauce (might be called huevos rellenos, but I'm pretty sure it's the former) - a cheese stuffed chili with two eggs on top, smothered in their wonderful green sauce. Try it and see. [30 May 2007 13:37:00]
