Is change a good thing?
I used to frequent the Diner often, but I do so less often since it changed hands. The good things are that it's cleaner, more open, brighter... The menu has changed, and whether that's a good thing depends on your food tastes. They still serve a good, ample breakfast - but they don't serve it all day. Many of their lunch items say "no substitutions." So people with food allergies are stuck. You can order something else on the side (paying extra) but not substitute. And they stopped serving dinner. The food is basic American cafe, but it tasty and very affordable. In general, the service is decent, although there is one waitress who can be pushy and rude and a reason I don't go there more often.    [02 Feb 2006 13:57:09]

A Real Diner....
We had breakfast here two days in a row on a trip to Paonia. Both days the staff should have been overwhelmed, but the lady waiting tables was cool, collective and got the orders out in good order. Food was diner food, and very good. Coffee was good as well. We'll be back again next July.    [06 Sep 2007 22:39:16]
