Best Burgers in Colorado
First Street Cafe not only serves up some great homemade quiches, Mexican dishes, and stir fry dishes... but they have THE best burgers in Colorado. They use very lean, high-altitude Scanga beef, the best in the West. The spiced iced tea complements every meal perfectly. Also, don't miss dessert - a slice of apple cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It's heaven on earth.    [12 Sep 2003 18:03:30]

I Liked This Place
My wife and I stopped here while out for a ride with friends from Evergreen and the food was good. Being diabetic I have to pass on some of the stuff.    [08 Jan 2004 02:05:44]

Great Food, Great Sevice, Great Atmosphere!
You won't be disappointed with this gem in the small tourist town, Salida, CO. Locally owned and operated, this comfortable restaurant offers a nice selection of dishes and consistently good food. The First Street Cafe is in the beautiful historic district, so be sure to read the front of the menu to learn about the history of the building. The food is fresh, there are dishes for vegetarians, Mexican cuisine, and general dishes. Some of the greatest quiche I've ever had, is available here and the homemade soups are out of this world. Try the Monte Cristo Sandwich for a real treat, along with a glass of spice iced tea.    [02 Feb 2004 20:46:40]

Awesome food & Service!
We recently stayed in Salida while on a ski trip to Monarch.
We ate every day at First Street Cafe. The food was awesome and the service impeccable. Waiters are fun, hospitable, and entertaining, especially Corey...ask for him when you go.
We recommend this restaurant very highly!    [21 Feb 2007 17:07:51]
