Possibly My All-Time Favorite Restaurant
My extended family and I have been eating at Sweet Basil for over 15 years. It is a highlight of every trip to Vail and over the years the quality has never waivered and the dining experience has always been just as memorable as the last.

The food at Sweet Basil is always slightly unusual, excellently prepared and very tasty. We've had dishes consisting of exotic fish to dishes as classic as french fries, though these were drizzled with truffle oil and served with parmesan dipping sauce. The atmosphere is relaxed yet elegant (there are usually people fresh from the slopes, in the winter, frequently dressed in jeans and sweaters) and the service is always exquisite.

Reservations, especially during ski season, sometimes up to 2 months in advance are practically required for dinner. Lunch is easier to find a slot. Sweet Basil's website takes reservations online.    [03 Oct 2005 14:57:46]
